Group Coaching and Workshops 

CEP offers dynamic group workshops and team coaching focused on building equity-leadership and competence within large groups and organizations.  These custom-designed workshops fit the needs of individual organizations and help create the common language and racial literacy skills needed to initiate individual and institutional change. 

 

Equity-Driven Leadership Coaching

We believe innovation and transformation happens at the level of individual leadership, institutional power, and cultural norms and values. To support leaders’ ability to realize their full potential and take sustained action to achieve a vision of equity and inclusion, we must support, coach, and train leaders at all three levels.  CEP’s equity-driven coaching is deeply informed by an understanding of systemic oppression and racial trauma. Through this lens, we help leaders explore their vision, realize their dreams, and grow into authentic agents of change and liberation.

Cross-Racial Coaching 

To build a culture of equity and inclusion, we coach and train leaders to build authentic relationships across race, where white leaders and leaders of color are working together in authentic partnership to solve critical challenges of equity and inclusion within their organizations.

CEP supports leaders of color to claim their inherent power, heal from generational and systemic racial trauma, seek liberation from survival patterns due to systemic oppression, build coalitions with people of color and white people, and lead with courage alignment to their values.

Due to unconscious bias and systemic racism and segregation, people of color and white people often co-exist in superficial and imbalanced relationships within institutions and communities. Therefore, we coach white leaders to develop the stamina to manage racial stress, transform systems of oppression, heal from the trauma caused by a history of domination and an investment in internalized racial superiority.

 

Equity-driven Coaching for Education Leaders

Equity Coaching helps education leaders disrupt patterns of racial inequity within themselves, their relationships, schools, and organizations.  Racial equity and leadership coaching also helps leaders who face resistance and emotional distress discover the possibility and choices available as they engage stakeholders.

Our coaching is also responsive to the needs, goals, and racial and cultural context of leaders. The racialized experience of leaders is a critical aspect of their leadership, organization, and systems. Therefore, we consider the ways in which structural racialization and implicit bias may have an influence on the challenges and opportunities leaders faces while working toward a vision for equity in schools and communities.

This unique style of “Edu-Coaching” provides a deep cognitive and adaptive learning experience grounded in an awareness of the concepts of race, systemic racism, equity and justice in schools and communities. This coaching includes rigorous dialogue and frameworks that will push leaders to re-imagine the way they think, act, and support staff, students, and families. Leaders will also develop the emotional stamina to resolve the emotional distress and disequilibrium that comes from discussing issues of race, power, and privilege.

Coach Training

CEP is building a coalition of coaches committed to equity. We believe in the power of coaching as a tool for liberation and transformation. When coaches can work together in community, and access skills in dismantling systemic oppression, we can ignite a movement!

CEP believes our model of coaching can increase impact by building a coalition of equity-driven coaches with the skills to unleash liberated leadership. In this regard, we offer additional professional development to professional coaches, who seek to build on their skills and use an equity-informed style of coaching. CEP desires to partner with coaches who want to bring an intentional focus on liberation and transformation to their coaching practice.
